Staff Bios

Natalie Nguyen, Interim Coordinator and Programming Assistant
Natalie previously served as the Resource Development Coordinator for JASMYN, Inc. working with LGBTQ youth ages 13-23, basically ze’s been a professional homosexual since 2007. During hir time at JASMYN, Natalie worked on internal communications, media relations, donor development, and youth programs. Translation: ze did just about everything office related and helped support youth activities such as HIV programs and running around crazy for the Alternative Prom. Natalie has two bachelor’s degrees including a B.A. in music from the University of Kansas and a B.S. in Communications from the University of North Florida. This means Natalie can analyze music while writing a press release at the same time. Natalie currently serves as the board chair for the young leadership council of OASIS and is the secretary for OUT Jacksonville.
Michael Lemley, Student Assistant
Michael is a French Studies major with a minor in ASL/deaf studies. He enjoys learning random facts and is a fountain of useless information. He likes Marvel comics (specifically X-Men) and is a self-identified nerd. Michael not only contributes to the blog, he participates in research, event and program planning, and assisting with whatever might need to be done. He’s always willing to lend an open ear, open mind, and an open heart to anyone who may need it.
Dane Lindquist, Student Assistant
Dane Lindquist is a sophomore at UNF and pursuing a degree in nursing. Dane is a major bibliophile and movie lover, and consequently is in charge of the LGBT Resource Center’s Library, which now has around 500 items. And he is always looking for new books and movies, so send in any recommendations. Dane is a super liberal that loves to talk about everything and anything, and wants to eliminate hate and bigotry by education and rational discussion.
Caitlin Scott, Student Assistant
Caitlin is an exercise science major and psychology minor, then it’s off to grad school to get her D.P.T. (Doctorate in Physical Therapy). She organizes the Speakers’ Bureau panels in which teachers have students come to their classes to speak about the LGBT community. She enjoys long walks on the beach, sunsets, and fluffy animals. She is a very open minded individual with a goal to educate and try to eliminate as much hate and ignorance towards the LGBT community as possible, not only in her time at UNF, but as she goes on in life. Caitlin is also in the Honor Society at UNF and is a self-proclaimed ”uber nerd”.
Gerald Joseph, Student Assistant
Gerald Joseph is a sophomore at UNF majoring in Psychology with a minor in Public Health. He is originally from the Tampa area and has fallen in love with the Jacksonville area. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, and loves Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen from the Twilight series). Gerald hopes to provide comfort and an open ear to anyone who is struggling with LGBT issues.
Arianna Thomas, Student Assistant
Arianna Thomas is a junior at UNF, majoring in both Psychology and Sociology. She is a dedicated student, a passionate individual and an outspoken ally to the LGBT community. Along with maintaining a 4.0 GPA, Arianna is interested in challenging societal norms and expectations, in hopes of promoting diversity and social equality at the University, in the Jacksonville area and within America. She enjoys Billy Collins’ poetry, home cooked meals and fall weather.
Erin Whittaker, Student Assistant
Erin Whittaker is twenty years old and has been a part of the resource center and pride for over two years. She is a Psychology major and a jazz bass player. She’s also a big movie and music buff.

James Watson, Student Assistant
James Watson is a junior at UNF majoring in Sociology with a Social Welfare Concentration, and minoring in Education. James, along with Dane, organizes a trans* discussion group that meets at the center.
